Road coming from the right side curves quickly and heads straight to the center left background; right side of the road lined with at least four two-and-a-half story businesses with front porches, illegible signs in front, and variously painted yellow, blue, or white with red roofs, left side of the road populated with fewer, similar structures; left foreground shows shrubbery next to the road with patches of grass behind; right foreground shows a woman traveling towards the left along the curve of the road in a single-horse carriage; man and woman travel in a one-horse carriage next to a single pedestrian in center of image along the straightaway of the road; small picketing rail with some brush at one end in the road to center left. Blue-tinted rolling hills in the background along the horizon, sky above painted a washed blue with white patches for clouds in the center.
