Description
Albumen print on thin paper of India ink sketch depicting a view of Port Jefferson, titled "Port Jefferson" with collaged element. Foreground consists of white picket fenced area with headstones and grave plots on top of hill; cluster of three figures on left side, one man sketching on paper looking out towards the harbor, woman and child on left looking to the left. Midground progresses into densely wooded horizontal strip which opens to reveal numerous buildings nestled alongside roads and fields; harbor in center of painting, several steamboats visible sailing across the water. View recedes toward the horizon line, which transitions into relatviely plain sky above. Print mounted to original cardboard backing.
